TRIO-CLIC5 Fusion FISH Probe
The TRIO-CLIC5 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the TRIO and CLIC5 genes. The fusion of the TRIO and CLIC5 genes has been associated with Skin Cutaneous Melanoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

TRIO Gene Summary
This gene encodes a large protein that functions as a GDP to GTP exchange factor. This protein promotes the reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton, thereby playing a role in cell migration and growth. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2015]
Gene Name: Trio Rho Guanine Nucleotide Exchange Factor
Chromosome: CHR5: 14143828 -14509458
Locus: 5p15.2
CLIC5 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the chloride intracellular channel (CLIC) family of chloride ion channels. The encoded protein associates with actin-based cytoskeletal structures and may play a role in multiple processes including hair cell stereocilia formation, myoblast proliferation and glomerular podocyte and endothelial cell maintenance. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2011]
Gene Name: Chloride Intracellular Channel 5
Chromosome: CHR6: 45866189 -46048085
Locus: 6p21.1
