TRIO-ADAMTS12 Fusion FISH Probe
The TRIO-ADAMTS12 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the TRIO and ADAMTS12 genes. The fusion of the TRIO and ADAMTS12 genes has been associated with Skin Cutaneous Melanoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

TRIO Gene Summary
This gene encodes a large protein that functions as a GDP to GTP exchange factor. This protein promotes the reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton, thereby playing a role in cell migration and growth. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2015]
Gene Name: Trio Rho Guanine Nucleotide Exchange Factor
Chromosome: CHR5: 14143828 -14509458
Locus: 5p15.2
ADAMTS12 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the ADAMTS (a disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs) protein family. Members of the family share several distinct protein modules, including a propeptide region, a metalloproteinase domain, a disintegrin-like domain, and a thrombospondin type 1 (TS-1) motif. Individual members of this family differ in the number of C-terminal TS-1 motifs, and some have unique C-terminal domains. The enzyme encoded by this gene contains eight TS-1 motifs. It may play roles in pulmonary cells during fetal development or in tumor processes through its proteolytic activity or as a molecule potentially involved in regulation of cell adhesion. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: ADAM Metallopeptidase With Thrombospondin Type 1 Motif 12
Chromosome: CHR5: 33527286 -33892124
Locus: 5p13.3-p13.2
