TRAPPC10-GRIK1 Fusion FISH Probe
The TRAPPC10-GRIK1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the TRAPPC10 and GRIK1 genes. The fusion of the TRAPPC10 and GRIK1 genes has been associated with Lung Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

GRIK1 Gene Summary
Glutamate receptors are the predominant excitatory neurotransmitter receptors in the mammalian brain and are activated in a variety of normal neurophysiologic processes. This gene product belongs to the kainate family of glutamate receptors, which are composed of four subunits and function as ligand-activated ion channels. The subunit encoded by this gene is subject to RNA editing (CAG->CGG; Q->R) within the second transmembrane domain, which is thought to alter the properties of ion flow. Alternative splicing, resulting in transcript variants encoding different isoforms, has been noted for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Glutamate Ionotropic Receptor Kainate Type Subunit 1
Chromosome: CHR21: 30909253 -31312282
Locus: 21q21.3
TRAPPC10 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a transmembrane protein found in the cis-Golgi complex. The encoded protein is part of the multisubunit transport protein particle (TRAPP) complex and may be involved in vesicular transport from the endoplasmic reticulum to the Golgi. Mutations in this gene could be responsible for the Unverricht-Lundborg type of progressive myoclonus epilepsy, or for autoimmune polyglandular disease type 1. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Trafficking Protein Particle Complex 10
Chromosome: CHR21: 45432205 -45526432
Locus: 21q22.3
