TRAM2-HCRTR2 Fusion FISH Probe
The TRAM2-HCRTR2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the TRAM2 and HCRTR2 genes. The fusion of the TRAM2 and HCRTR2 genes has been associated with Adrenocortical Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

HCRTR2 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a G-protein coupled receptor involved in the regulation of feeding behavior. The encoded protein binds the hypothalamic neuropeptides orexin A and orexin B. A related gene (HCRTR1) encodes a G-protein coupled receptor that selectively binds orexin A. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2009]
Gene Name: Hypocretin Receptor 2
Chromosome: CHR6: 55039070 -55147418
Locus: 6p12.1
TRAM2 Gene Summary
TRAM2 is a component of the translocon, a gated macromolecular channel that controls the posttranslational processing of nascent secretory and membrane proteins at the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membrane.[supplied by OMIM, Jul 2004]
Gene Name: Translocation Associated Membrane Protein 2
Chromosome: CHR6: 52362199 -52441862
Locus: 6p12.2
