TRA2A-AQP1 Fusion FISH Probe
The TRA2A-AQP1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the TRA2A and AQP1 genes. The fusion of the TRA2A and AQP1 genes has been associated with Cervical Squamous Cell Carcinoma And Endocervical Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

AQP1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a small integral membrane protein with six bilayer spanning domains that functions as a water channel protein. This protein permits passive transport of water along an osmotic gradient. This gene is a possible candidate for disorders involving imbalance in ocular fluid movement. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2016]
Gene Name: Aquaporin 1 (Colton Blood Group)
Chromosome: CHR7: 30951414 -30965131
Locus: 7p14.3
TRA2A Gene Summary
This gene is a member of the transformer 2 homolog family and encodes a protein with several RRM (RNA recognition motif) domains. This phosphorylated nuclear protein binds to specific RNA sequences and plays a role in the regulation of pre-mRNA splicing. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2013]
Gene Name: Transformer 2 Alpha Homolog
Chromosome: CHR7: 23544400 -23571656
Locus: 7p15.3
