TOP3A-ZCCHC8 Fusion FISH Probe
The TOP3A-ZCCHC8 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the TOP3A and ZCCHC8 genes. The fusion of the TOP3A and ZCCHC8 genes has been associated with Bladder Urothelial Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

TOP3A Gene Summary
This gene encodes a DNA topoisomerase, an enzyme that controls and alters the topologic states of DNA during transcription. This enzyme catalyzes the transient breaking and rejoining of a single strand of DNA which allows the strands to pass through one another, thus reducing the number of supercoils and altering the topology of DNA. This enzyme forms a complex with BLM which functions in the regulation of recombination in somatic cells. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. Gene Name: DNA Topoisomerase III Alpha
Chromosome: CHR17: 18177234 -18218321
Locus: 17p11.2
ZCCHC8 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a scaffold protein which serves as an assessory factor to the nuclear RNA exosome complex. The encoded protein forms a trimeric human nuclear exosome targeting (NEXT) complex, together with hMTR4 and the RNA-binding factor RBM7 which promotes the exosomal degradation of non-coding promoter-upstream transcripts, enhancer RNAs and 3'-extended products of histone- and small nuclear RNA transcription. This complex is also thought to recruit the exosome to degrade intronic RNAs via its interaction with both the exosome and the spliceosome. It contains both an N-terminal zinc-knuckle domain and a C-terminal proline-rich domain. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2017]
Gene Name: Zinc Finger CCHC-type Containing 8
Chromosome: CHR12: 122956145 -122985543
Locus: 12q24.31
