TOM1-PITPNB Fusion FISH Probe
The TOM1-PITPNB Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the TOM1 and PITPNB genes. The fusion of the TOM1 and PITPNB genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

TOM1 Gene Summary
This gene was identified as a target of the v-myb oncogene. The encoded protein shares its N-terminal domain in common with proteins associated with vesicular trafficking at the endosome. It is recruited to the endosomes by its interaction with endofin. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Gene Name: Target Of Myb1 Membrane Trafficking Protein
Chromosome: CHR22: 35695267 -35743987
Locus: 22q12.3
PITPNB Gene Summary
This gene encodes a cytoplasmic protein that catalyzes the transfer of phosphatidylinositol and phosphatidylcholine between membranes. This transfer activity is required for COPI complex-mediated retrograde transport from the Golgi apparatus to the endoplasmic reticulum. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2013]
Gene Name: Phosphatidylinositol Transfer Protein Beta
Chromosome: CHR22: 28247656 -28315255
Locus: 22q12.1
