TNPO3-RCAN1 Fusion FISH Probe
The TNPO3-RCAN1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the TNPO3 and RCAN1 genes. The fusion of the TNPO3 and RCAN1 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

RCAN1 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene interacts with calcineurin A and inhibits calcineurin-dependent signaling pathways, possibly affecting central nervous system development. This gene is located in the minimal candidate region for the Down syndrome phenotype, and is overexpressed in the brain of Down syndrome fetuses. Chronic overexpression of this gene may lead to neurofibrillary tangles such as those associated with Alzheimer disease. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Gene Name: Regulator Of Calcineurin 1
Chromosome: CHR21: 35888783 -35987382
Locus: 21q22.12
TNPO3 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a nuclear import receptor for serine/arginine-rich (SR) proteins such as the splicing factors SFRS1 and SFRS2. The encoded protein has also been shown to be involved in HIV-1 infection, apparently through interaction with the HIV-1 capsid protein. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms as well as a noncoding transcript have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Jul 2010]
Gene Name: Transportin 3
Chromosome: CHR7: 128594233 -128695227
Locus: 7q32.1
