TNPO1-ENC1 Fusion FISH Probe
The TNPO1-ENC1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the TNPO1 and ENC1 genes. The fusion of the TNPO1 and ENC1 genes has been associated with Prostate Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

TNPO1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes the beta subunit of the karyopherin receptor complex which interacts with nuclear localization signals to target nuclear proteins to the nucleus. The karyopherin receptor complex is a heterodimer of an alpha subunit which recognizes the nuclear localization signal and a beta subunit which docks the complex at nucleoporins. Alternate splicing of this gene results in two transcript variants encoding different proteins. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Transportin 1
Chromosome: CHR5: 72112417 -72210215
Locus: 5q13.2
ENC1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the kelch-related family of actin-binding proteins. The encoded protein plays a role in the oxidative stress response as a regulator of the transcription factor Nrf2, and expression of this gene may play a role in malignant transformation. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2012]
Gene Name: Ectodermal-neural Cortex 1
Chromosome: CHR5: 73923233 -73937249
Locus: 5q13.3
