TNIK-SPATA16 Fusion FISH Probe
The TNIK-SPATA16 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the TNIK and SPATA16 genes. The fusion of the TNIK and SPATA16 genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

TNIK Gene Summary
Wnt signaling plays important roles in carcinogenesis and embryonic development. The protein encoded by this gene is a serine/threonine kinase that functions as an activator of the Wnt signaling pathway. Mutations in this gene are associated with an autosomal recessive form of cognitive disability. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2017]
Gene Name: TRAF2 And NCK Interacting Kinase
Chromosome: CHR3: 170780291 -171178197
Locus: 3q26.2-q26.31
SPATA16 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a testis-specific protein that belongs to the tetratricopeptide repeat-like superfamily. The encoded protein localizes to the Golgi apparatus and may play a role in spermatogenesis. [provided by RefSeq, May 2010]
Gene Name: Spermatogenesis Associated 16
Chromosome: CHR3: 172607146 -172859058
Locus: 3q26.31
