TNIK-DGCR8 Fusion FISH Probe
The TNIK-DGCR8 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the TNIK and DGCR8 genes. The fusion of the TNIK and DGCR8 genes has been associated with Brain Lower Grade Glioma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

TNIK Gene Summary
Wnt signaling plays important roles in carcinogenesis and embryonic development. The protein encoded by this gene is a serine/threonine kinase that functions as an activator of the Wnt signaling pathway. Mutations in this gene are associated with an autosomal recessive form of cognitive disability. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. Gene Name: TRAF2 And NCK Interacting Kinase
Chromosome: CHR3: 170780291 -171178197
Locus: 3q26.2-q26.31
DGCR8 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a subunit of the microprocessor complex which mediates the biogenesis of microRNAs from the primary microRNA transcript. The encoded protein is a double-stranded RNA binding protein that functions as the non-catalytic subunit of the microprocessor complex. This protein is required for binding the double-stranded RNA substrate and facilitates cleavage of the RNA by the ribonuclease III protein, Drosha. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2010]
