TNFRSF6B-CD74 Fusion FISH Probe
The TNFRSF6B-CD74 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the TNFRSF6B and CD74 genes. The fusion of the TNFRSF6B and CD74 genes has been associated with Lung Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

CD74 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene associates with class II major histocompatibility complex (MHC) and is an important chaperone that regulates antigen presentation for immune response. It also serves as cell surface receptor for the cytokine macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) which, when bound to the encoded protein, initiates survival pathways and cell proliferation. This protein also interacts with amyloid precursor protein (APP) and suppresses the production of amyloid beta (Abeta). Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]
Gene Name: CD74 Molecule
Chromosome: CHR5: 149781199 -149792499
Locus: 5q33.1
TNFRSF6B Gene Summary
This gene belongs to the tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily. The encoded protein is postulated to play a regulatory role in suppressing FasL- and LIGHT-mediated cell death. It acts as a decoy receptor that competes with death receptors for ligand binding. Over-expression of this gene has been noted in gastrointestinal tract tumors. Read-through transcription into this gene from the neighboring upstream gene, which encodes regulator of telomere elongation helicase 1 (RTEL1), generates a non-coding transcript. Gene Name: TNF Receptor Superfamily Member 6b
Chromosome: CHR20: 62328003 -62330051
Locus: 20q13.33
