The TMEM98-GPATCH8 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the TMEM98 and GPATCH8 genes. The fusion of the TMEM98 and GPATCH8 genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

A mutation in the serine-rich region of the protein is thought to be associated with hyperuricemia (PMID: 21594610).
