TMEM59-SUPT16H Fusion FISH Probe
The TMEM59-SUPT16H Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the TMEM59 and SUPT16H genes. The fusion of the TMEM59 and SUPT16H genes has been associated with Lung Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

TMEM59 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein shown to regulate autophagy in response to bacterial infection. This protein may also regulate the retention of amyloid precursor protein (APP) in the Golgi apparatus through its control of APP glycosylation. Overexpression of this protein has been found to promote apoptosis in a glioma cell line. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2015]
Gene Name: Transmembrane Protein 59
Chromosome: CHR1: 54497348 -54519111
Locus: 1p32.3
SUPT16H Gene Summary
Transcription of protein-coding genes can be reconstituted on naked DNA with only the general transcription factors and RNA polymerase II. However, this minimal system cannot transcribe DNA packaged into chromatin, indicating that accessory factors may facilitate access to DNA. One such factor, FACT (facilitates chromatin transcription), interacts specifically with histones H2A/H2B to effect nucleosome disassembly and transcription elongation. FACT is composed of an 80 kDa subunit and a 140 kDa subunit; this gene encodes the 140 kDa subunit. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2009]
Gene Name: SPT16 Homolog, Facilitates Chromatin Remodeling Subunit
Chromosome: CHR14: 21819630 -21852425
Locus: 14q11.2
