TMEFF2-RLIM Fusion FISH Probe
The TMEFF2-RLIM Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the TMEFF2 and RLIM genes. The fusion of the TMEFF2 and RLIM genes has been associated with Prostate Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

TMEFF2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the tomoregulin family of transmembrane proteins. This protein has been shown to function as both an oncogene and a tumor suppressor depending on the cellular context and may regulate prostate cancer cell invasion. Multiple soluble forms of this protein have been identified that arise from both an alternative splice variant and ectodomain shedding. Additionally, this gene has been found to be hypermethylated in multiple cancer types. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2015]
Gene Name: Transmembrane Protein With EGF Like And Two Follistatin Like Domains 2
Chromosome: CHR2: 192814746 -193059644
Locus: 2q32.3
RLIM Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a RING-H2 zinc finger protein. It has been shown to be an E3 ubiquitin protein ligase that targets LIM domain binding 1 (LDB1/CLIM), and causes proteasome-dependent degradation of LDB1. This protein and LDB1 are co-repressors of LHX1/LIM-1, a homeodomain transcription factor. Multiple alternatively spliced variants, encoding the same protein, have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2009]
Gene Name: Ring Finger Protein, LIM Domain Interacting
Chromosome: CHRX: 73802810 -73834461
Locus: Xq13.2
