TFRC-CPA3 Fusion FISH Probe
The TFRC-CPA3 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the TFRC and CPA3 genes. The fusion of the TFRC and CPA3 genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

CPA3 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the carboxypeptidase A family of zinc metalloproteases. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate a mature protease that is released by mast cells and may be involved in the degradation of endogenous proteins and the inactivation of venom-associated peptides. Expression of this gene may be elevated in human asthma patients. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2015]
Gene Name: Carboxypeptidase A3
Chromosome: CHR3: 148583042 -148614872
Locus: 3q24
TFRC Gene Summary
This gene encodes a cell surface receptor necessary for cellular iron uptake by the process of receptor-mediated endocytosis. This receptor is required for erythropoiesis and neurologic development. Multiple alternatively spliced variants have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2015]
Gene Name: Transferrin Receptor
Chromosome: CHR3: 195776154 -195809032
Locus: 3q29
