TFEB-MDFI Fusion FISH Probe
The TFEB-MDFI Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the TFEB and MDFI genes. The fusion of the TFEB and MDFI genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

MDFI Gene Summary
This protein is a transcription factor that negatively regulates other myogenic family proteins. Studies of the mouse homolog, I-mf, show that it interferes with myogenic factor function by masking nuclear localization signals and preventing DNA binding.
