TFE3-PRCC Fusion FISH Probe
The TFE3-PRCC Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the TFE3 and PRCC genes. The fusion of the TFE3 and PRCC genes has been associated with Kidney Renal Papillary Cell Carcinoma, and Kidney Renal Papillary Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

PRCC Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein that may play a role in pre-mRNA splicing. Chromosomal translocations (X;1)(p11;q21) that result in fusion of this gene to TFE3 (GeneID 7030) have been associated with papillary renal cell carcinoma. A PRCC-TFE3 fusion protein is expressed in affected carcinomas and is likely associated with altered gene transactivation. This fusion protein has also been associated with disruption of the cell cycle.[provided by RefSeq, Aug 2010]
Gene Name: Papillary Renal Cell Carcinoma (translocation-associated)
Chromosome: CHR1: 156737273 -156770609
Locus: 1q23.1
TFE3 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a basic helix-loop-helix domain-containing transcription factor that binds MUE3-type E-box sequences in the promoter of genes. The encoded protein promotes the expression of genes downstream of transforming growth factor beta (TGF-beta) signaling. This gene may be involved in chromosomal translocations in renal cell carcinomas and other cancers, resulting in the production of fusion proteins. Translocation partners include PRCC (papillary renal cell carcinoma), NONO (non-POU domain containing, octamer-binding), and ASPSCR1 (alveolar soft part sarcoma chromosome region, candidate 1), among other genes. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2013]
Gene Name: Transcription Factor Binding To IGHM Enhancer 3
Chromosome: CHRX: 48886241 -48900990
Locus: Xp11.23
