TFE3-MED15 Fusion FISH Probe
The TFE3-MED15 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the TFE3 and MED15 genes. The fusion of the TFE3 and MED15 genes has been associated with Kidney Renal Clear Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

TFE3 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a basic helix-loop-helix domain-containing transcription factor that binds MUE3-type E-box sequences in the promoter of genes. The encoded protein promotes the expression of genes downstream of transforming growth factor beta (TGF-beta) signaling. This gene may be involved in chromosomal translocations in renal cell carcinomas and other cancers, resulting in the production of fusion proteins. Translocation partners include PRCC (papillary renal cell carcinoma), NONO (non-POU domain containing, octamer-binding), and ASPSCR1 (alveolar soft part sarcoma chromosome region, candidate 1), among other genes. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2013]
Gene Name: Transcription Factor Binding To IGHM Enhancer 3
Chromosome: CHRX: 48886241 -48900990
Locus: Xp11.23
MED15 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a subunit of the multiprotein complexes PC2 and ARC/DRIP and may function as a transcriptional coactivator in RNA polymerase II transcription. This gene contains stretches of trinucleotide repeats and is located in the chromosome 22 region which is deleted in DiGeorge syndrome. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2014]
Gene Name: Mediator Complex Subunit 15
Chromosome: CHR22: 20861885 -20941919
Locus: 22q11.21
