TCN2-THOC5 Fusion FISH Probe

The TCN2-THOC5 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the TCN2 and THOC5 genes. The fusion of the TCN2 and THOC5 genes has been associated with Colon Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

Turnaround Time: 7-10 Business Days    Shipping Time: 1-2 Day Expedited Shipping

TCN2 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a member of the vitamin B12-binding protein family. This family of proteins, alternatively referred to as R binders, is expressed in various tissues and secretions. This plasma protein binds cobalamin and mediates the transport of cobalamin into cells. This protein and other mammalian cobalamin-binding proteins, such as transcobalamin I and gastric intrisic factor, may have evolved by duplication of a common ancestral gene. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.[provided by RefSeq, May 2010]

Gene Name: Transcobalamin 2

Chromosome: CHR22: 31003069 -31023047

Locus: 22q12.2

THOC5 Gene Summary

The THO Complex 5 (THOC5) gene is located on chr22 :29904155-29949736 at 22q12.2.
