TCF12-DSCAM Fusion FISH Probe
The TCF12-DSCAM Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the TCF12 and DSCAM genes. The fusion of the TCF12 and DSCAM genes has been associated with Prostate Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

DSCAM Gene Summary
This gene is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily of cell adhesion molecules (Ig-CAMs), and is involved in human central and peripheral nervous system development. This gene is a candidate for Down syndrome and congenital heart disease (DSCHD). A gene encoding a similar Ig-CAM protein is located on chromosome 11. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2012]
Gene Name: DS Cell Adhesion Molecule
Chromosome: CHR21: 41384342 -42219039
Locus: 21q22.2
TCF12 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) E-protein family that recognizes the consensus binding site (E-box) CANNTG. This encoded protein is expressed in many tissues, among them skeletal muscle, thymus, B- and T-cells, and may participate in regulating lineage-specific gene expression through the formation of heterodimers with other bHLH E-proteins. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene have been described, but the full-length nature of some of these variants has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Transcription Factor 12
Chromosome: CHR15: 57210832 -57580714
Locus: 15q21.3
