TBL1XR1-PIK3CA Fusion FISH Probe
The TBL1XR1-PIK3CA Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the TBL1XR1 and PIK3CA genes. The fusion of the TBL1XR1 and PIK3CA genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma, and Prostate Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

PIK3CA Gene Summary
Phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase is composed of an 85 kDa regulatory subunit and a 110 kDa catalytic subunit. The protein encoded by this gene represents the catalytic subunit, which uses ATP to phosphorylate PtdIns, PtdIns4P and PtdIns(4,5)P2. This gene has been found to be oncogenic and has been implicated in cervical cancers. A pseudogene of this gene has been defined on chromosome 22. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2016]
Gene Name: Phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate 3-kinase Catalytic Subunit Alpha
Chromosome: CHR3: 178866310 -178952497
Locus: 3q26.32
TBL1XR1 Gene Summary
This gene is a member of the WD40 repeat-containing gene family and shares sequence similarity with transducin (beta)-like 1X-linked (TBL1X). The protein encoded by this gene is thought to be a component of both nuclear receptor corepressor (N-CoR) and histone deacetylase 3 (HDAC 3) complexes, and is required for transcriptional activation by a variety of transcription factors. Mutations in these gene have been associated with some autism spectrum disorders, and one finding suggests that haploinsufficiency of this gene may be a cause of intellectual disability with dysmorphism. Mutations in this gene as well as recurrent translocations involving this gene have also been observed in some tumors. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2016]
Gene Name: Transducin Beta Like 1 X-linked Receptor 1
