TBC1D8B-RNF128 Fusion FISH Probe

The TBC1D8B-RNF128 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the TBC1D8B and RNF128 genes. The fusion of the TBC1D8B and RNF128 genes has been associated with Bladder Urothelial Carcinoma, and Uterine Carcinosarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

Turnaround Time: 7-10 Business Days    Shipping Time: 1-2 Day Expedited Shipping

TBC1D8B Gene Summary

This gene encodes a protein with a TBC (Tre-2/Bub2/CDC16) domain. Some mammalian proteins with this domain have been shown to function as Rab-GAPs by binding to specific Rab proteins and affecting their GTPase activity. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2011]

Gene Name: TBC1 Domain Family Member 8B

Chromosome: CHRX: 106045918 -106119377

Locus: Xq22.3

RNF128 Gene Summary

The protein encoded by this gene is a type I transmembrane protein that localizes to the endocytic pathway. This protein contains a RING zinc-finger motif and has been shown to possess E3 ubiquitin ligase activity. Expression of this gene in retrovirally transduced T cell hybridoma significantly inhibits activation-induced IL2 and IL4 cytokine production. Induced expression of this gene was observed in anergic CD4(+) T cells, which suggested a role in the induction of anergic phenotype. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Gene Name: Ring Finger Protein 128, E3 Ubiquitin Protein Ligase

Chromosome: CHRX: 105937067 -106040246

Locus: Xq22.3
