TAX1BP1-KCTD7 Fusion FISH Probe
The TAX1BP1-KCTD7 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the TAX1BP1 and KCTD7 genes. The fusion of the TAX1BP1 and KCTD7 genes has been associated with Mesothelioma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

TAX1BP1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a HTLV-1 tax1 binding protein. The encoded protein interacts with TNFAIP3, and inhibits TNF-induced apoptosis by mediating the TNFAIP3 anti-apoptotic activity. Degradation of this protein by caspase-3-like family proteins is associated with apoptosis induced by TNF. This protein may also have a role in the inhibition of inflammatory signaling pathways. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, May 2011]
Gene Name: Tax1 Binding Protein 1
Chromosome: CHR7: 27778991 -27869386
Locus: 7p15.2
KCTD7 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the potassium channel tetramerization domain-containing protein family. Family members are identified on a structural basis and contain an amino-terminal domain similar to the T1 domain present in the voltage-gated potassium channel. Mutations in this gene have been associated with progressive myoclonic epilepsy-3. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.[provided by RefSeq, Jan 2011]
Gene Name: Potassium Channel Tetramerization Domain Containing 7
Chromosome: CHR7: 66093867 -66108216
Locus: 7q11.21
