TASP1-MACROD2 Fusion FISH Probe

The TASP1-MACROD2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the TASP1 and MACROD2 genes. The fusion of the TASP1 and MACROD2 genes has been associated with Prostate Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

TASP1 Gene Summary

This gene encodes an endopeptidase that cleaves specific substrates following aspartate residues. The encoded protein undergoes posttranslational autoproteolytic processing to generate alpha and beta subunits, which reassemble into the active alpha2-beta2 heterotetramer. It is required to cleave MLL, a protein required for the maintenance of HOX gene expression, and TFIIA, a basal transcription factor. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described, but their biological validity has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Gene Name: Taspase 1

Chromosome: CHR20: 13370035 -13619583

Locus: 20p12.1

MACROD2 Gene Summary

The protein encoded by this gene is a deacetylase involved in removing ADP-ribose from mono-ADP-ribosylated proteins. The encoded protein has been shown to translocate from the nucleus to the cytoplasm upon DNA damage. [provided by RefSeq, May 2017]
