TAF1B-SGCZ Fusion FISH Probe
The TAF1B-SGCZ Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the TAF1B and SGCZ genes. The fusion of the TAF1B and SGCZ genes has been associated with Mesothelioma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

TAF1B Gene Summary
Initiation of transcription by RNA polymerase I requires the formation of a complex composed of the TATA-binding protein (TBP) and three TBP-associated factors (TAFs) specific for RNA polymerase I. This complex, known as SL1, binds to the core promoter of ribosomal RNA genes to position the polymerase properly and acts as a channel for regulatory signals. This gene encodes one of the SL1-specific TAFs. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2016]
Gene Name: TATA-box Binding Protein Associated Factor, RNA Polymerase I Subunit B
Chromosome: CHR2: 9983570 -10074545
Locus: 2p25.1
SGCZ Gene Summary
The zeta-sarcoglycan gene measures over 465 kb and localizes to 8p22. This protein is part of the sarcoglycan complex, a group of 6 proteins. The sarcoglycans are all N-glycosylated transmembrane proteins with a short intra-cellular domain, a single transmembrane region and a large extra-cellular domain containing a carboxyl-terminal cluster with several conserved cysteine residues. The sarcoglycan complex is part of the dystrophin-associated glycoprotein complex (DGC), which bridges the inner cytoskeleton and the extra-cellular matrix. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Sarcoglycan Zeta
