SYT7-SDHAF2 Fusion FISH Probe
The SYT7-SDHAF2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the SYT7 and SDHAF2 genes. The fusion of the SYT7 and SDHAF2 genes has been associated with Cervical Squamous Cell Carcinoma And Endocervical Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

SYT7 Gene Summary
This gene is a member of the synaptotagmin gene family and encodes a protein similar to other family members that mediate calcium-dependent regulation of membrane trafficking in synaptic transmission. A similar protein in rodents mediates hormone secretion and lysosome exocytosis. In humans, expression of this gene has been associated with prostate cancer. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011]
Gene Name: Synaptotagmin 7
Chromosome: CHR11: 61282784 -61348298
Locus: 11q12.2
SDHAF2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a mitochondrial protein needed for the flavination of a succinate dehydrogenase complex subunit required for activity of the complex. Mutations in this gene are associated with paraganglioma.[provided by RefSeq, Jul 2010]
Gene Name: Succinate Dehydrogenase Complex Assembly Factor 2
Chromosome: CHR11: 61197596 -61214239
Locus: 11q12.2
