SYNJ2-SCN11A Fusion FISH Probe
The SYNJ2-SCN11A Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the SYNJ2 and SCN11A genes. The fusion of the SYNJ2 and SCN11A genes has been associated with Bladder Urothelial Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

SYNJ2 Gene Summary
The gene is a member of the inositol-polyphosphate 5-phosphatase family. The encoded protein interacts with the ras-related C3 botulinum toxin substrate 1, which causes translocation of the encoded protein to the plasma membrane where it inhibits clathrin-mediated endocytosis. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, May 2010]
Gene Name: Synaptojanin 2
Chromosome: CHR6: 158402887 -158520207
Locus: 6q25.3
SCN11A Gene Summary
Voltage-gated sodium channels are transmembrane glycoprotein complexes composed of a large alpha subunit with 24 transmembrane domains and one or more regulatory beta subunits. They are responsible for the generation and propagation of action potentials in neurons and muscle. This gene encodes one member of the sodium channel alpha subunit gene family, and is highly expressed in nociceptive neurons of dorsal root ganglia and trigeminal ganglia. It mediates brain-derived neurotrophic factor-evoked membrane depolarization and is a major effector of peripheral inflammatory pain hypersensitivity. Mutations in this gene have been associated with hereditary sensory and autonomic neuropathy type VII and familial episodic pain syndrome-3. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2017]
Gene Name: Sodium Voltage-gated Channel Alpha Subunit 11
Chromosome: CHR3: 38887259 -38992052
Locus: 3p22.2
