SYNE2-RTN1 Fusion FISH Probe
The SYNE2-RTN1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the SYNE2 and RTN1 genes. The fusion of the SYNE2 and RTN1 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

RTN1 Gene Summary
This gene belongs to the family of reticulon encoding genes. Reticulons are associated with the endoplasmic reticulum, and are involved in neuroendocrine secretion or in membrane trafficking in neuroendocrine cells. This gene is considered to be a specific marker for neurological diseases and cancer, and is a potential molecular target for therapy. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2011]
Gene Name: Reticulon 1
Chromosome: CHR14: 60062693 -60337557
Locus: 14q23.1
SYNE2 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a nuclear outer membrane protein that binds cytoplasmic F-actin. This binding tethers the nucleus to the cytoskeleton and aids in the maintenance of the structural integrity of the nucleus. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2009]
Gene Name: Spectrin Repeat Containing Nuclear Envelope Protein 2
Chromosome: CHR14: 64319682 -64693167
Locus: 14q23.2
