STXBP5-TNFRSF19 Fusion FISH Probe
The STXBP5-TNFRSF19 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the STXBP5 and TNFRSF19 genes. The fusion of the STXBP5 and TNFRSF19 genes has been associated with Sarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

TNFRSF19 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily. This receptor is highly expressed during embryonic development. It has been shown to interact with TRAF family members, and to activate JNK signaling pathway when overexpressed in cells. This receptor is capable of inducing apoptosis by a caspase-independent mechanism, and it is thought to play an essential role in embryonic development. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been described. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: TNF Receptor Superfamily Member 19
Chromosome: CHR13: 24144508 -24250244
Locus: 13q12.12
STXBP5 Gene Summary
Syntaxin 1 is a component of the 7S and 20S SNARE complexes which are involved in docking and fusion of synaptic vesicles with the presynaptic plasma membrane. This gene encodes a syntaxin 1 binding protein. In rat, a similar protein dissociates syntaxin 1 from the Munc18/n-Sec1/rbSec1 complex to form a 10S complex, an intermediate which can be converted to the 7S SNARE complex. Thus this protein is thought to be involved in neurotransmitter release by stimulating SNARE complex formation. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Syntaxin Binding Protein 5
Chromosome: CHR6: 147525493 -147711612
Locus: 6q24.3
