STXBP5-SASH1 Fusion FISH Probe
The STXBP5-SASH1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the STXBP5 and SASH1 genes. The fusion of the STXBP5 and SASH1 genes has been associated with Sarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

SASH1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a scaffold protein involved in the TLR4 signaling pathway that may stimulate cytokine production and endothelial cell migration in response to invading pathogens. The encoded protein has also been described as a potential tumor suppressor that may negatively regulate proliferation, apoptosis, and invasion of cancer cells, and reduced expression of this gene has been observed in multiple human cancers. Mutations in this gene may be associated with abnormal skin pigmentation in human patients. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2016]

STXBP5 Gene Summary
Syntaxin 1 is a component of the 7S and 20S SNARE complexes which are involved in docking and fusion of synaptic vesicles with the presynaptic plasma membrane. This gene encodes a syntaxin 1 binding protein. In rat, a similar protein dissociates syntaxin 1 from the Munc18/n-Sec1/rbSec1 complex to form a 10S complex, an intermediate which can be converted to the 7S SNARE complex. Thus this protein is thought to be involved in neurotransmitter release by stimulating SNARE complex formation. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
