STXBP2-TRIM4 Fusion FISH Probe
The STXBP2-TRIM4 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the STXBP2 and TRIM4 genes. The fusion of the STXBP2 and TRIM4 genes has been associated with Liver Hepatocellular Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

STXBP2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the STXBP/unc-18/SEC1 family. The encoded protein is involved in intracellular trafficking, control of SNARE (soluble NSF attachment protein receptor) complex assembly, and the release of cytotoxic granules by natural killer cells. Mutations in this gene are associated with familial hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been noted for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2013]
Gene Name: Syntaxin Binding Protein 2
Chromosome: CHR19: 7701990 -7712759
Locus: 19p13.2
TRIM4 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the tripartite motif (TRIM) family. The TRIM motif includes three zinc-binding domains, a RING, a B-box type 1 and a B-box type 2, and a coiled-coil region. The protein localizes to cytoplasmic bodies. Its function has not been identified. Alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode different isoforms have been described.[provided by RefSeq, Jul 2010]
Gene Name: Tripartite Motif Containing 4
Chromosome: CHR7: 99488029 -99517223
Locus: 7q22.1
