STK24-SLC15A1 Fusion FISH Probe
The STK24-SLC15A1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the STK24 and SLC15A1 genes. The fusion of the STK24 and SLC15A1 genes has been associated with Bladder Urothelial Carcinoma, Rectum Adenocarcinoma, and Stomach Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

SLC15A1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes an intestinal hydrogen peptide cotransporter that is a member of the solute carrier family 15. The encoded protein is localized to the brush border membrane of the intestinal epithelium and mediates the uptake of di- and tripeptides from the lumen into the enterocytes. This protein plays an important role in the uptake and digestion of dietary proteins. This protein also facilitates the absorption of numerous peptidomimetic drugs. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2010]
Gene Name: Solute Carrier Family 15 Member 1
Chromosome: CHR13: 99336054 -99404929
Locus: 13q32.2-q32.3
STK24 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a serine/threonine protein kinase that functions upstream of mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling. The encoded protein is cleaved into two chains by caspases; the N-terminal fragment (MST3/N) translocates to the nucleus and promotes programmed cells death. There is a pseudogene for this gene on chromosome X. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2013]
Gene Name: Serine/threonine Kinase 24
Chromosome: CHR13: 99102454 -99229396
Locus: 13q32.2
