STK10-SNX2 Fusion FISH Probe
The STK10-SNX2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the STK10 and SNX2 genes. The fusion of the STK10 and SNX2 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

SNX2 Gene Summary
This gene belongs to the sorting nexin family whose members contain the phosphoinositide-binding phox (PX) domain. The encoded protein is a component of the retromer complex which plays a role in protein sorting in the endocytic pathway. This protein may form oligomeric complexes with other family members. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants of this gene. Pseudogenes associated with this gene are located on chromosomes 1 and 7. [provided by RefSeq, May 2013]
Gene Name: Sorting Nexin 2
Chromosome: CHR5: 122110749 -122165802
Locus: 5q23.2
STK10 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the Ste20 family of serine/threonine protein kinases, and is similar to several known polo-like kinase kinases. The protein can associate with and phosphorylate polo-like kinase 1, and overexpression of a kinase-dead version of the protein interferes with normal cell cycle progression. The kinase can also negatively regulate interleukin 2 expression in T-cells via the mitogen activated protein kinase kinase 1 pathway. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Serine/threonine Kinase 10
Chromosome: CHR5: 171469073 -171615346
Locus: 5q35.1
