STARD3-PPP1R1B Fusion FISH Probe
The STARD3-PPP1R1B Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the STARD3 and PPP1R1B genes. The fusion of the STARD3 and PPP1R1B genes has been associated with Bladder Urothelial Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

STARD3 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of a subfamily of lipid trafficking proteins that are characterized by a C-terminal steroidogenic acute regulatory domain and an N-terminal metastatic lymph node 64 domain. The encoded protein localizes to the membranes of late endosomes and may be involved in exporting cholesterol. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.[provided by RefSeq, Oct 2009]
Gene Name: StAR Related Lipid Transfer Domain Containing 3
Chromosome: CHR17: 37793332 -37820454
Locus: 17q12
PPP1R1B Gene Summary
This gene encodes a bifunctional signal transduction molecule. Dopaminergic and glutamatergic receptor stimulation regulates its phosphorylation and function as a kinase or phosphatase inhibitor. As a target for dopamine, this gene may serve as a therapeutic target for neurologic and psychiatric disorders. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011]
Gene Name: Protein Phosphatase 1 Regulatory Inhibitor Subunit 1B
Chromosome: CHR17: 37783176 -37792878
Locus: 17q12
