ST6GAL1-LPP Fusion FISH Probe
The ST6GAL1-LPP Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ST6GAL1 and LPP genes. The fusion of the ST6GAL1 and LPP genes has been associated with Kidney Renal Papillary Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

LPP Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of a subfamily of LIM domain proteins that are characterized by an N-terminal proline-rich region and three C-terminal LIM domains. The encoded protein localizes to the cell periphery in focal adhesions and may be involved in cell-cell adhesion and cell motility. This protein also shuttles through the nucleus and may function as a transcriptional co-activator. This gene is located at the junction of certain disease-related chromosomal translocations, which result in the expression of chimeric proteins that may promote tumor growth. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2014]
Gene Name: LIM Domain Containing Preferred Translocation Partner In Lipoma
Chromosome: CHR3: 187871662 -188608460
Locus: 3q27.3-q28
ST6GAL1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of glycosyltransferase family 29. The encoded protein is a type II membrane protein that catalyzes the transfer of sialic acid from CMP-sialic acid to galactose-containing substrates. The protein, which is normally found in the Golgi but can be proteolytically processed to a soluble form, is involved in the generation of the cell-surface carbohydrate determinants and differentiation antigens HB-6, CD75, and CD76. This gene has been incorrectly referred to as CD75. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2017]
Gene Name: ST6 Beta-galactoside Alpha-2,6-sialyltransferase 1
Chromosome: CHR3: 186648314 -186796341
Locus: 3q27.3
