ST3GAL4-ZW10 Fusion FISH Probe
The ST3GAL4-ZW10 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ST3GAL4 and ZW10 genes. The fusion of the ST3GAL4 and ZW10 genes has been associated with Sarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

ST3GAL4 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the glycosyltransferase 29 family, a group of enzymes involved in protein glycosylation. The encoded protein is targeted to Golgi membranes but may be proteolytically processed and secreted. The gene product may also be involved in the increased expression of sialyl Lewis X antigen seen in inflammatory responses. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2011]
Gene Name: ST3 Beta-galactoside Alpha-2,3-sialyltransferase 4
Chromosome: CHR11: 126226095 -126284533
Locus: 11q24.2
ZW10 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein that is one of many involved in mechanisms to ensure proper chromosome segregation during cell division. This protein is an essential component of the mitotic checkpoint, which prevents cells from prematurely exiting mitosis. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]
Gene Name: Zw10 Kinetochore Protein
Chromosome: CHR11: 113603904 -113644485
Locus: 11q23.2
