SSH2-BLMH Fusion FISH Probe
The SSH2-BLMH Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the SSH2 and BLMH genes. The fusion of the SSH2 and BLMH genes has been associated with Cervical Squamous Cell Carcinoma And Endocervical Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

BLMH Gene Summary
Bleomycin hydrolase (BMH) is a cytoplasmic cysteine peptidase that is highly conserved through evolution; however, the only known activity of the enzyme is metabolic inactivation of the glycopeptide bleomycin (BLM), an essential component of combination chemotherapy regimens for cancer. The protein contains the signature active site residues of the cysteine protease papain superfamily. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Bleomycin Hydrolase
Chromosome: CHR17: 28575212 -28619184
Locus: 17q11.2
SSH2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein tyrosine phosphatase that plays a key role in the regulation of actin filaments. The encoded protein dephosphorylates and activates cofilin, which promotes actin filament depolymerization. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2013]
Gene Name: Slingshot Protein Phosphatase 2
Chromosome: CHR17: 27952964 -28257018
Locus: 17q11.2
