SRPK1-CCL18 Fusion FISH Probe
The SRPK1-CCL18 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the SRPK1 and CCL18 genes. The fusion of the SRPK1 and CCL18 genes has been associated with Testicular Germ Cell Tumors. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

CCL18 Gene Summary
This antimicrobial gene is one of several Cys-Cys (CC) cytokine genes clustered on the q arm of chromosome 17. Cytokines are a family of secreted proteins involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. The CC cytokines are proteins characterized by two adjacent cysteines. The cytokine encoded by this gene displays chemotactic activity for naive T cells, CD4+ and CD8+ T cells and nonactivated lymphocytes, but not for monocytes or granulocytes. This chemokine attracts naive T lymphocytes toward dendritic cells and activated macrophages in lymph nodes. It may play a role in both humoral and cell-mediated immunity responses. Gene Name: C-C Motif Chemokine Ligand 18
Chromosome: CHR17: 34391642 -34398841
Locus: 17q12
SRPK1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a serine/arginine protein kinase specific for the SR (serine/arginine-rich domain) family of splicing factors. The protein localizes to the nucleus and the cytoplasm. It is thought to play a role in regulation of both constitutive and alternative splicing by regulating intracellular localization of splicing factors. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants. Additional alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described for this gene, but their full length nature have not been determined.[provided by RefSeq, Jul 2010]
Gene Name: SRSF Protein Kinase 1
Chromosome: CHR6: 35800810 -35888957
Locus: 6p21.31
