SRGAP2-KCNJ10 Fusion FISH Probe
The SRGAP2-KCNJ10 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the SRGAP2 and KCNJ10 genes. The fusion of the SRGAP2 and KCNJ10 genes has been associated with Cervical Squamous Cell Carcinoma And Endocervical Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

KCNJ10 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the inward rectifier-type potassium channel family, characterized by having a greater tendency to allow potassium to flow into, rather than out of, a cell. The encoded protein may form a heterodimer with another potassium channel protein and may be responsible for the potassium buffering action of glial cells in the brain. Mutations in this gene have been associated with seizure susceptibility of common idiopathic generalized epilepsy syndromes. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Potassium Voltage-gated Channel Subfamily J Member 10
Chromosome: CHR1: 160007256 -160040051
Locus: 1q23.2
SRGAP2 Gene Summary
This locus encodes a member of the SLIT-ROBO Rho GTPase activating protein family. The encoded protein stimulates GTPase activity of Rac1, and plays a role in cortical neuron development. This locus has several paralogs on human chromosome 1 resulting from segmental duplication. While this locus itself is conserved among various species, the paralogs are found only in the genus Homo, and not in the genomes of non-human great apes. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described for this locus. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2014]
Gene Name: SLIT-ROBO Rho GTPase Activating Protein 2
Chromosome: CHR1: 206516199 -206637783
Locus: 1q32.1
