SRGAP1-TMEM5 Fusion FISH Probe
The SRGAP1-TMEM5 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the SRGAP1 and TMEM5 genes. The fusion of the SRGAP1 and TMEM5 genes has been associated with Sarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

TMEM5 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a type II transmembrane protein that is thought to have glycosyltransferase function. Mutations in this gene result in cobblestone lissencephaly. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, May 2013]
Gene Name: Transmembrane Protein 5
Chromosome: CHR12: 64173636 -64202887
Locus: 12q14.2
SRGAP1 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a GTPase activator, working with the GTPase CDC42 to negatively regulate neuronal migration. The encoded protein interacts with the transmembrane receptor ROBO1 to inactivate CDC42. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2016]
Gene Name: SLIT-ROBO Rho GTPase Activating Protein 1
Chromosome: CHR12: 64238540 -64541613
Locus: 12q14.2
