SPP1-TYK2 Fusion FISH Probe
The SPP1-TYK2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the SPP1 and TYK2 genes. The fusion of the SPP1 and TYK2 genes has been associated with Kidney Renal Clear Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

SPP1 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is involved in the attachment of osteoclasts to the mineralized bone matrix. The encoded protein is secreted and binds hydroxyapatite with high affinity. The osteoclast vitronectin receptor is found in the cell membrane and may be involved in the binding to this protein. This protein is also a cytokine that upregulates expression of interferon-gamma and interleukin-12. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Gene Name: Secreted Phosphoprotein 1
Chromosome: CHR4: 88896801 -88904563
Locus: 4q22.1
TYK2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the tyrosine kinase and, more specifically, the Janus kinases (JAKs) protein families. This protein associates with the cytoplasmic domain of type I and type II cytokine receptors and promulgate cytokine signals by phosphorylating receptor subunits. It is also component of both the type I and type III interferon signaling pathways. As such, it may play a role in anti-viral immunity. A mutation in this gene has been associated with hyperimmunoglobulin E syndrome (HIES) - a primary immunodeficiency characterized by elevated serum immunoglobulin E. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Tyrosine Kinase 2
Chromosome: CHR19: 10461203 -10491248
Locus: 19p13.2
