SPOP-NDUFS5 Fusion FISH Probe
The SPOP-NDUFS5 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the SPOP and NDUFS5 genes. The fusion of the SPOP and NDUFS5 genes has been associated with Uterine Corpus Endometrial Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

NDUFS5 Gene Summary
This gene is a member of the NADH dehydrogenase (ubiquinone) iron-sulfur protein family. The encoded protein is a subunit of the NADH:ubiquinone oxidoreductase (complex I), the first enzyme complex in the electron transport chain located in the inner mitochondrial membrane. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants and pseudogenes have been identified on chromosomes 1, 4 and 17. [provided by RefSeq, May 2010]
Gene Name: NADH:ubiquinone Oxidoreductase Subunit S5
Chromosome: CHR1: 39491966 -39500308
Locus: 1p34.3
SPOP Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein that may modulate the transcriptional repression activities of death-associated protein 6 (DAXX), which interacts with histone deacetylase, core histones, and other histone-associated proteins. In mouse, the encoded protein binds to the putative leucine zipper domain of macroH2A1.2, a variant H2A histone that is enriched on inactivated X chromosomes. The BTB/POZ domain of this protein has been shown in other proteins to mediate transcriptional repression and to interact with components of histone deacetylase co-repressor complexes. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants encoding the same protein. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Speckle Type BTB/POZ Protein
Chromosome: CHR17: 47676245 -47755525
Locus: 17q21.33
