SPIRE1-PSMG2 Fusion FISH Probe
The SPIRE1-PSMG2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the SPIRE1 and PSMG2 genes. The fusion of the SPIRE1 and PSMG2 genes has been associated with Skin Cutaneous Melanoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

SPIRE1 Gene Summary
Spire proteins, such as SPIRE1, are highly conserved between species. They belong to the family of Wiskott-Aldrich homology region-2 (WH2) proteins, which are involved in actin organization (Kerkhoff et al., 2001 [PubMed 11747823]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]
Gene Name: Spire Type Actin Nucleation Factor 1
Chromosome: CHR18: 12446510 -12657912
Locus: 18p11.21
PSMG2 Gene Summary
The Proteasome Assembly Chaperone 2 (PSMG2) gene is located on chr18 :12658737-12725739 at 18p11.21.
Gene Name: Proteasome Assembly Chaperone 2
