SORL1-SYTL2 Fusion FISH Probe
The SORL1-SYTL2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the SORL1 and SYTL2 genes. The fusion of the SORL1 and SYTL2 genes has been associated with Lung Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

SORL1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a mosaic protein that belongs to at least two families: the vacuolar protein sorting 10 (VPS10) domain-containing receptor family, and the low density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR) family. The encoded protein also contains fibronectin type III repeats and an epidermal growth factor repeat. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate the mature receptor, which likely plays roles in endocytosis and sorting. Mutations in this gene may be associated with Alzheimer's disease. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2016]
Gene Name: Sortilin Related Receptor 1
Chromosome: CHR11: 121322911 -121504471
Locus: 11q24.1
SYTL2 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a synaptotagmin-like protein (SLP) that belongs to a C2 domain-containing protein family. The SLP homology domain (SHD) of this protein has been shown to specifically bind the GTP-bound form of Ras-related protein Rab-27A (RAB27A). This protein plays a role in RAB27A-dependent vesicle trafficking and controls melanosome distribution in the cell periphery. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms.[provided by RefSeq, Jun 2009]
Gene Name: Synaptotagmin Like 2
Chromosome: CHR11: 85405264 -85522178
Locus: 11q14.1
