SMU1-AFAP1 Fusion FISH Probe
The SMU1-AFAP1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the SMU1 and AFAP1 genes. The fusion of the SMU1 and AFAP1 genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

SMU1 Gene Summary
The SMU1, DNA Replication Regulator And Spliceosomal Factor (SMU1) gene is located on chr9 :33041849-33076714 at 9p21.1.
Gene Name: SMU1, DNA Replication Regulator And Spliceosomal Factor
Chromosome: CHR9: 33041849 -33076714
Locus: 9p21.1
AFAP1 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a Src binding partner. It may represent a potential modulator of actin filament integrity in response to cellular signals, and may function as an adaptor protein by linking Src family members and/or other signaling proteins to actin filaments. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2008]
Gene Name: Actin Filament Associated Protein 1
Chromosome: CHR4: 7760439 -7941653
Locus: 4p16.1
