SMARCB1-HRASLS2 Fusion FISH Probe
The SMARCB1-HRASLS2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the SMARCB1 and HRASLS2 genes. The fusion of the SMARCB1 and HRASLS2 genes has been associated with Prostate Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

SMARCB1 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is part of a complex that relieves repressive chromatin structures, allowing the transcriptional machinery to access its targets more effectively. The encoded nuclear protein may also bind to and enhance the DNA joining activity of HIV-1 integrase. This gene has been found to be a tumor suppressor, and mutations in it have been associated with malignant rhabdoid tumors. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene. Gene Name: SWI/SNF Related, Matrix Associated, Actin Dependent Regulator Of Chromatin, Subfamily B, Member 1
Chromosome: CHR22: 24129149 -24176705
Locus: 22q11
HRASLS2 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene has both phospholipase and acyltransferase activities and acts as a tumor suppressor. The encoded protein can hydrolyze dipalmitoylated phosphatidylcholine (PC) to palmitic acid and lyso-PC. In addition, this protein can catalyze the N-acylation of phosphatidylethanolamine and can catalyze the O-acylation of lyso-PC to form PC. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2016]
