SMAD3-IL17RA Fusion FISH Probe
The SMAD3-IL17RA Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the SMAD3 and IL17RA genes. The fusion of the SMAD3 and IL17RA genes has been associated with Stomach Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

SMAD3 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the SMAD, a family of proteins similar to the gene products of the Drosophila gene 'mothers against decapentaplegic' (Mad) and the C. elegans gene Sma. SMAD proteins are signal transducers and transcriptional modulators that mediate multiple signaling pathways. This protein functions as a transcriptional modulator activated by transforming growth factor-beta and is thought to play a role in the regulation of carcinogenesis. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2009]
Gene Name: SMAD Family Member 3
Chromosome: CHR15: 67358194 -67487533
Locus: 15q22.33
IL17RA Gene Summary
Interleukin 17A (IL17A) is a proinflammatory cytokine secreted by activated T-lymphocytes. It is a potent inducer of the maturation of CD34-positive hematopoietic precursors into neutrophils. The transmembrane protein encoded by this gene (interleukin 17A receptor; IL17RA) is a ubiquitous type I membrane glycoprotein that binds with low affinity to interleukin 17A. Interleukin 17A and its receptor play a pathogenic role in many inflammatory and autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. Like other cytokine receptors, this receptor likely has a multimeric structure. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2014]
Gene Name: Interleukin 17 Receptor A
Chromosome: CHR22: 17565850 -17596584
Locus: 22q11.1
