SLCO2B1-HNF4A Fusion FISH Probe
The SLCO2B1-HNF4A Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the SLCO2B1 and HNF4A genes. The fusion of the SLCO2B1 and HNF4A genes has been associated with Kidney Renal Clear Cell Carcinoma, and Liver Hepatocellular Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

HNF4A Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a nuclear transcription factor which binds DNA as a homodimer. The encoded protein controls the expression of several genes, including hepatocyte nuclear factor 1 alpha, a transcription factor which regulates the expression of several hepatic genes. This gene may play a role in development of the liver, kidney, and intestines. Mutations in this gene have been associated with monogenic autosomal dominant non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus type I. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants encoding several different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2012]
Gene Name: Hepatocyte Nuclear Factor 4 Alpha
Chromosome: CHR20: 42984440 -43058311
Locus: 20q13.12
SLCO2B1 Gene Summary
This locus encodes a member of the organic anion-transporting polypeptide family of membrane proteins. The protein encoded by this locus may function in regulation of placental uptake of sulfated steroids. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2010]
Gene Name: Solute Carrier Organic Anion Transporter Family Member 2B1
