SLC16A7-GOLPH3 Fusion FISH Probe
The SLC16A7-GOLPH3 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the SLC16A7 and GOLPH3 genes. The fusion of the SLC16A7 and GOLPH3 genes has been associated with Skin Cutaneous Melanoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

SLC16A7 Gene Summary
This gene is a member of the monocarboxylate transporter family. Members in this family transport metabolites, such as lactate, pyruvate, and ketone bodies. The protein encoded by this gene catalyzes the proton-linked transport of monocarboxylates and has the highest affinity for pyruvate. This protein has been reported to be more highly expressed in prostate and colorectal cancer specimens when compared to control specimens. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2012]
Gene Name: Solute Carrier Family 16 Member 7
Chromosome: CHR12: 60083125 -60175408
Locus: 12q14.1
GOLPH3 Gene Summary
The Golgi complex plays a key role in the sorting and modification of proteins exported from the endoplasmic reticulum. The protein encoded by this gene is a peripheral membrane protein of the Golgi stack and may have a regulatory role in Golgi trafficking. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene have been described, but the full-length nature of these variants has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Golgi Phosphoprotein 3
Chromosome: CHR5: 32124823 -32174425
